Should I take Soy Protein as a supplement for body building?

I have ridiculously high LDL(bad cholesterol), I'm at 270. So the whey protein just gonna hurt me more than help me. My friend told me to look up Soy Protein because it supposedly lowers cholesterol on top of having none to begin with.

He also mentioned some rumors about side effects. I was wondering if anyone could give me a good idea of what soy protein is and if it's safe for me to use as a supplement after a workout.

You may want to google the effects of too much Soy and Male "performance" before doing that.

Whey itself isnt going to change your count. Proteins from whey are a use it or lose it nutrient. What you dont need/absorb, your body releases. You pee it out in about an hour. It's the other ingredients you need to look at. That's why it's fairly pointless to drink other then pre & post workouts. It's not like drinking dairy (anymore).

I would suggest ON gold standard. It's probably the best Whey isolate out there. (mixed with water of course..not milk)

I would also suggest retesting. My mom had a high count once, and they re-tested 2 weeks later -- all normal.
