Maricopa County sheriff's deputies found three dead dogs and seized 12 undernourished pit bulls Friday from the Cave Creek-area home of rapper-turned-actor DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons. One of the three dead dogs dug up from the backyard was burned. in 1999. Simmons pleaded guilty to animal cruelty. A search warrant served also turned up drug paraphernalia, a cache of weapons and several cars with license plates that could not be traced back to the vehicles they were on.The dogs found inside Simmons' home did not have the proper food or water. Some of the dogs were tied up outside the house without water.

Isn't it absolutely horrible? To have that much money that they earned from their perceived talent...not saying they are talented or not. It breaks my heart that they are being caught for this stuff, but hopefully the fate of other animals is not in their hands.

People will probably attack me for this, but is it something they have in common because they are both black? I think it may be the African culture to not place value on an animals life. While these men are fully to blame for their actions, I bet there are a lot of black people that are involved in the same stuff...they just aren't receiving national attention for it.

Janice, many posters lately have said things like "People are always looking to blame someone else..." and I've thought that's ridiculous, but here you are trying to blame a coach for the actions of similar men??? If you get pulled over tomorrow for not wearing your seatbelt, try telling the cop you didn't know you had to wear one. When you and I became adults, we assumed responsibility for our actions and the knowledge of the laws we must abide by. I was at least trying to give these men the benefit of the doubt that culturally the African race had such a difficult time simply surviving as slaves that they didn't even recognize an animal as worthy of being treated better. Stop blaming other people for your or their problems. The coaches aren't on the news b/c their kids are torturing and abusing animals.
