Instant Meal

any instant meal ideas?

I'm in college, and it looks like I'll have a very busy schedule this upcoming semester so I don't know if I'll have much time to spend on cooking. Any easy meal ideas?

I have a few.

You can open a can of Hormel Ham, drain off the liquid and break up the ham in a can of Campbell's Bean and Bacon soup. Add a 1/2 can of water rather than a whole can. Warm it up and salt and pepper to taste. It makes a meal in about ten minutes.

Another is to open a can of Hormel cooked beef. Mix it with a jar of Hines beef gravy (or other brand)
on top of the stove. It tastes great over rice or noodles. You have a good meal in about twenty minutes.

Open a can of Campbell's Chicken Rice Soup. Only add 1/2 a can of water instead of a full can. It makes the broth thicker. Add extra canned chicken. As you warm it up, add Curry powder to taste. Serve over rice. It's fast chicken rice curry. BTW, Uncle Ben's makes a rice product in a plastic bag that you can heat in a microwave for ninety seconds. It's not as good as real rice but it's quick.

One of the smartest things you can buy is a crock pot/slow cooker. When you have a slow homework night, you can prepare your ingredients and keep them overnight in the fridge, then put them in the slow cooker the next morning, plug it in and head off to class. When you get home, you have a great meal waiting.

Walmart often has crock pots/slow cookers for sale at a reasonable price. If you get a big one, six or seven quart, you'll have one or two left over meals (if you have access to a refrigerator). There are hundreds of crock pot recipes on the internet. Also, be advised that you can get plastic crock pot liners at the grocery store (they can usually be found in the same isle as plastic bags and paper products). If you use one of these bags, there is hardly any clean up.
