My male cat is about 8-9 yrs old,i just noticed a terrible stinch coming from his mouth and body,like a dead e?

My cat has an awful stinch coming from his mouth and body,like a dead animal. He's not eating and going into a bedroom he usually does not go into. How do I get that smell out of his mouth,and off him?

His teeth have decayed. Take him to the vet and have the rotten ones extracted or he may become very ill (not to mention yourself if the stench gets any worse!) or at best he will have a lot of pain. Cats can manage very well with only a few teeth and even none at all, as the gums harden up enough to allow them to eat all but the hardest foods.
