Whats the sciatic nerve and whats my best defense against an army trained maniac?

Some kid from the army is threatening to kill me via my sciatic nerve and I'm just seeing what my best defense is. He sent me an email because he's obsessed with his ex girlfriend who is currently going out with me. I'm not afraid to fight this kid but he does have army training and my last serious hand to hand combat would probably be a middle school fight i got into about 10 years ago. Any advice?

As an infantry soldier, I say he's blowing smoke, hoping to scare you off so he can make a play for his ex. Call his bluff or call the local police and report terroristic threat. They'll take care of him if you have evidence.

And if he was truly an "army trained maniac" you wouldn't be talking to us right now. At least when I retired in 04, we didn't go around broadcasting we were going to do something, we just did it. He was probably a POG as well. Tell him to pound sand.
